Nintendo Embedding SNES Classics on Trading Cards

Nintendo on Tuesday released details on a new accessory for Game Boy Advance. Currently dubbed e-Reader, the new plug- in accessory allows gamers to play their favorite NES titles with the swipe of a card. The e-Reader plugs into the cartridge slot of any standard Game Boy Advance. Players can purchase several classic NES titles, all of which will be available on electronic trading cards. Using dot code technology, the e- Reader can read optical data imprinted on the trading cards enabling instant play.
Slated for a September 16 launch, the e-Reader will retail with several classic NES games including Donkey Kong Jr-e, Pinball-e, Balloon Fight-e, Tennis-e and Excitebike-e for a suggested price of $39.95. Additional cards will retail for $1.95 to $4.95 each. Future games available on e-Reader card format include Donkey Kong-e, Mario Bros.-e, Ice Climber-e, Baseball-e and Urban Champion-e.

Ja e-Readerin muistiinkin taisi mahtua vain yksi megabitti (128 kilotavua) joten eipä sinnekään mitään SNES-klassikkoa edes mahtuisi. Toisaalta NES:in vähän isommat ja legendaarisemmat pelit, kuten Zelda, Metroid, Kid Icarus tai vastaavat olisi mielenkiintoista nähdä e-Card-muodossa!
