Pressitiedotteesta:

• Players move around one of more than 15 boards, buying shops to build their portfolios and collecting symbols they can cash in at the bank to earn more gold
to invest. It takes money to make money, so racing around the board may not be
the best strategy.
• To capitalize on their monetary gains, players can make investments, play the
stock market, purchase shops and collect shopping fees. Players with multiple
shops adjacent to one another see them grow in value and their shops level up.
Other players who land on those squares have to pay an increased shopping
fee.
• Players can choose to play as a variety of Mushroom Kingdom characters, as
DRAGON QUEST characters or even as their own Mii™
characters.
• The franchise has been a hit in Japan, and this marks its first appearance in
North America

Fortune Street -- merely the latest chapter of a long-running Square Enix crossover series called Itadaki Street -- hews more closely to its name than you might realize at first. There's far more of Monopoly here than of Mario Party, as players jockey to gain control of as many properties on the game board as possible and drive their competitors to bankruptcy. You roll a die each turn and move the corresponding number of spaces, and once you stop you can buy the square you end up on if no one else owns it, or else pay the space's owner a fee if someone's beaten you there. If you land on a space you already own, you're given the option to pour some of your own cash into it in order to upgrade its value (that is, boost the cost of rent for tenants).

At its basic level, Fortune Street is standard board game fare. What sets it apart are the little RPG-like touches drawn from its heritage. There seems to be additional complexity to its mechanics that don't really come through in a convention demo setting, too -- among other details, we're told there's a stock market that players can wager on in order to boost (or destroy) their fortunes.

Ja tietenkin peli on parhaimmillaan neljän pelaajan kesken pelattuna:

As with most games of this variety, it's really meant to be played with a full complement of four competitors. Should you be unable to muster a complete group, though, Fortune Street fleshes out the game with as many A.I.-controlled companions as are needed to create a full group of four.

Yhdysvalloissa peli julkaistaan jo jouluksi, joten sieltä saadaan vaikutelmia ja mielipiteitä ennen yhä vahvistamatonta Euroopan-julkaisupäivää ensi vuonna.

Uutta traileria ja previkkaa pukkaa:

All of the vacant property spaces on the board have signs indicating how much Gold is required to claim that space as your own. Each space varies not only in the property type (like, for instance, a grocery or a toy store), but also where it stands in the stock market. Certain spaces acquire profit margins that will enable you to accumulate wealth faster than others, so it's important to consider these important details prior to purchasing.

Property value or max capital will increase if you can successfully link a series of spaces together. But given the omnipresent mentions of Monopoly whenever this game is brought up, you might have guessed this already. As you do that, you can accumulate assets for yourself which can then be invested into the same properties you manage. From the player menu, you can opt to manage your shops by upgrading, selling or auctioning them off entirely.

Although not clearly explained from the get-go, it became evident that all players had a secondary goal of gathering the four suit shapes at the corners of the map. Once collected, they then need to be deposited into the Bank space which, in this case, was located in the center of the board. You don't need to have an exact dice roll to add to your suit collection or make a deposit; simply passing over these spaces will do the trick. When deposits are made, you'll get promoted, which acts almost like a real-life salary increase. Principally, though, the biggest benefit this provides is significant increase in any profit gained from opponents who land on your properties.

Vastaus: Boom Street (6.1.2012 - Dragon Quest x Nintendo -lautapeli)
