Yllättäen pelijättiläinen Sony antoi projektille huomattavan pidennyksen tuotantoon, jotta Judge pääsi tervehtymään rauhassa. Judge myös kertoo olleensa valmis eroamaan projektista kuullessaan alkuperäisen ohjaajan Cory Barlogin astuvan syrjään jatko-osan johtamisesta.
"Cory kuitenkin pyysi minua luottamaan häneen", Judge jatkaa. "Onneksi luotin, (ohjaaja) Eric Williams on peto!"
