Gears Of War 3.
Varmasti monen ajatuksissa ja odotuksissa. Tuleeko sitä ollenkaan? Miltäköhän se näyttäisi? No:

Epic have just released this amazing tech demo for the upcoming Gears of War 3. A lot of information is still in the air and we have no clue as to when the third game in the premium franchise will be released. At GDC, Epic showed various demonstrations of their updated Unreal Engine. One of those was the tech demo for Gears of War 3. The video is pretty short but it shows the level of detail that one can expect from a Gears of War game. The footage shows a Brumak roaring through a jungle. You can check the video yourself below:

Also as reported by Kotaku, Epic Games vice president Mark Rein, referring to a demo showing a blob of liquid metal, asked the audience at GDC: “Remember last year we had the meat cube? …This is the mercury cube”

Another demo showed what the updated Unreal Engine was really capable of. An Epic representative playing a demo, quickly zipped through a city, indicating how quickly the buidlings and the huge city can be easily rendered by the engine.

Mark Rein added: “One day we’ll show you what we’re doing with this. When you see what we’re doing with this, it’s going to blow your mind.”

Ja saanen vielä huomauttaa, että tässä ei ole kyse nyt Unreal Engine 4:stä, vaan puhe on Unreal Engine-päivityksestä. Tämä voi tarkoittaa montaa asiaa, eikä vähiten sitä, että ehkäpä saamme nauttia äijämäisestä meiningistä vielä tässä sukupolvessa.

Duke Nukem: forever on varmistunut myös konsoleille uusimman trailerin (2010) myötä.

Helvetin hienolta näyttää! Vinkki: katsokaa ikoneita esim: 1.29 kohtaa ;)... Kuka tekee feikki-pätkän noilla fysiikoilla ja kääntää sen konsolille ellei peliä oikeasti tehdä :)? Itsellä ei ole 50viestiä täynnä joten en pysty tehdä uutta threadia... Voisiko joku toinen tehdä tästä pelistä?

Toisaalta, Cliffin piti pitää se puhe jo aikaisemmin, mutta sitä siirrettiin maanantaille. Eikä kukaan varmaan kertonut moisesta tiimille, joka vastaa Xbox Liven mainoksista :). Mutta hyvä että GeoW 3 tulee, kakkonen alkaa olemaan jo kohtuullisen hyvin hinkattu.

Jeh tänä aamuna Jimmy Fallon ohjelmassa Cliffy B toi asian esille ja GoW3 on työn alla.
Gearsofwar.com:in foorumien mukaan pelissä tullaan näkemään 4 pelaajan campaing co-op.

Tarina jatkuu 18kk GoW2:sen jälkeen ja vahvistusta porukkaan tuo ensimmäinen nais puolinen taistelia Anya.
Ensimmäistä trailerin pätkääkin pääsi jo nauttimaan.

Tulevan kuun OXM:ssä julkistetaan kuulemma "return of a gaming classic", joka on vielä lehden Jon Hicksin mukaan: "it's a very substantial franchise and it's going to be a very big surprise. A good one, though - we're really looking forward to it." Ja tämä kaikki vielä yksinoikeudella boksille. Ihan mielenkiinnolla odottelen mitä huttua sieltä paljastuu.

E: Ilmeisesti kyseessä on uusi XCOM, joka on on FPS. V2 uutinen.

Peli julkaistaan jouluksi 2010. Kesällä Splinter Cell Convictionin omistajat pääsevät mukaan moninpelibetaan.

•Revamped song-filtering system. With the Rock Band library expected to grow to about 2,000 songs by year's end, it has grown too big for simply scrolling. With the new system, "you can say, 'only show me songs in Rock Band 3' or 'only songs under three minutes' or 'Eighties metal songs from my (downloadable) collection,' " Teasdale says. "It's a really cool way to take your full library down to a manageable list of songs."

•Rock Band Pro. This new music learning mode lets players develop real-world music-playing fundamentals for keyboards, guitars and drums. More realistic music notations replace the standard color-coded notes during gameplay. For guitar, numbers flow down the screen along six guitar strings, telling you where to place your hands on the neck and when to strum.

Two new guitar controllers in the works have actual strings where you strum; one is a full-sized, fully functional six-string Squier Stratocaster from Fender. "It can tell where your fingers are based on technology in the neck and the bridge of the guitar. No buttons," Drake says. "While you're playing it, it feels exactly like playing a real guitar," because that's what you're doing.

The other is a Fender Mustang Pro controller from accessory maker Mad Catz with a field of buttons in each fret. As your fingers compress the smaller non-colored buttons on that guitar's neck, your finger positions are represented in the game's display. "You can go from plucking single notes to power chords and bar chords, we have crazy stuff like tapping and slides," Dubrofsky says. "If you ever had any aspirations of connecting with the music in a deeper way ... you are really going to like Rock Band 3."

For drums, three new cymbals are added to the standard four drum pads, and you are forced to play the correct cymbal at the right time. "It really immerses you more. You feel more like a drummer," Dubrofsky says. "It's not only for expert levels. You can come in on easy and actually play Pro drums. We have all the different levels established. It's actually really fun. You are playing up on the high hat or down on the snare, and it feels more like a kit than ever before."

On keyboards, Sussman says, "we're actually utilizing the full two-octave range that the keyboard controller has. Everything that you are playing, whether you are playing on easy or expert, is accurate musical information. The track looks like a real keyboard track, and you are playing notes on the keyboard that if you were to step away from the game and were to play on a real piano, they would be the right notes.

Kiinnostava kysymys onkin, että toimiiko kytkentä myös toisinpäin, voiko kytkeä minkä tahansa midikiipparin kontrolleriksi (perusohjain-namiskat yms pitää kyllä sitten mapata johonkin).

Toinen kiinnostava on se, että miten x360:lla nuo jutussa mainitut 7 pelaajaa toimii yhdessä.

RB3 ei voi ilmestyä yhtään liian aikaisin, tahtoo.

(Repost PS3-puolelta, kun en löytänyt sopivaa yhteistä threadia, konsolisodan tuleviin multiplattiiksiin en kokenut sopivaksi).

Miksei? Se vuosia sitten oikeasti kuollut ja kuopattu DNF sai aikaan niin paljon julkisuutta että ei ole ollenkaan huono idea, kaupallisessa mielessä, tehdä ihan oikeaa peliä tuohon hypeen.

Eri asia sitten on miten kova tuollaisen pelin pitää olla että se oikeasti myy. Tietenkin julkaisijalle voi riittä pelkkä "ihan-ok" myyntikin, sen verran tuolla ilmaisella mainoshypellä varmasti saa aikaan...

Melkein voisi sanoa että syö hatullisen p*skaa mikäli tuo on oikeasti hyvä peli, mutta historia on opettanut että ei kannata... ;)

Täältä ei löytynyt (tai en löytänyt) mainintaa lainkaan mainion pelisarjan jatko-osasta. Eli puhelen nyt Thief 4:sta, tai tuttavallisemmin Thi4f pelistä. Huhuilua on tuon tiimoilta ollut joten ajattelin mainita siitä tännekkin.

Mielestäni yksi loistavimpia hiippailupelejä nämä ovat olleet, vaikka toki aika kultaa muistot. Salavihkaista varjoissa lymyämistä, vartijoiden tainnuttamista ja tietenkin tavaroiden tunkemista omiin taskuihin; voiko sisäinen kleptomaani parempaa toivoa?

Tehkää toki ketju tälle jos haluatte, tosin taitaa olla liian aikaista vielä hypetellä mitään. :rolleyes:

Halo: Combat Evolved Remake 2011 ja Halo 4 2012.
Microsoft's freshly-formed internal Halo studio, 343 Industries, is working on a Halo: Combat Evolved remake. That's according to "industry chatter" reported in the new Games Master magazine, which writes that the updated game could run on the Halo: Reach engine and arrive ahead of a full Halo 3 sequel in late 2012.

En näe mitään syytä miksi näin ei voisi tapahtua. Pari kuukautta taaksepäin Phil Spencer mainitsikin kuinka Haloja tullaan julkaisemaan tiuhempaan tahtiin.
