Hey Everyone,
Just wanted to give you a heads up that our team is aware of many of the issues that you are experiencing with Army of Two and we wanted to let you know that we hear your concerns loud and clear. Our team has been hard at work investigating these issues and looking for the best possible solutions. We are very happy to hear that people, for the most part, are enjoying the game and we want to make sure that we do everything to ensure you have an enjoyable experience. Here's a quick update on a list of issues that our team is currently looking into and we appreciate all of your patience as we work to get these resolved:
1) Problems connecting to EA servers: Some of you have already begun to help us out by providing details of your issues in this thread (
http://forums.ea. com/mboards/thread.jspa?threadID=345623&tstart=30) For others, please feel free to do so because the more details we can obtain the better. Our engineers are currently going through our server logs to better understand the root of the problem. In the meantime, we've scaled our servers accordingly. We should be getting an assessment from our engineering team soon and will determine next steps from there.
2) Getting Disconnected from Multiplayer matches: We are aware of the issue that some people are being unexpectedly dropped from Multiplayer matches. This is due to two different reasons; Latency/lag and Users quitting the match early. Something to consider is that Vs. Mode runs on a Peer- to- Peer connection, meaning that the match is highly dependent on each user's broadband connection. If one user has a slower internet connection, it will slow down all users in the match. We are investigating the issues and to see how and if this can be resolved in a future title update.
Currently if a connection is dropped, or if a player quits the match before it ends, the same error message will appear on the screen stating "You have lost connection to the EA Server" This error message will be changed to reflect the reason for being dropped from a match. You can expect this change in the next title update.
We are also looking into ways to decrease the amount of users who quit matches early by rewarding those who remain in a match. I'll share more details on this as soon as they develop.
3) PS3 Headset issues: Our team is trying to reproduce this issue and we are doing continuous testing across our studios. We should have a better assessment of this situation from our QA team tomorrow and determine the best course of action from there.
In the mean time, it is recommended by the Playstation Network that you do not play behind a firewall. However, if you do wish to play behind a firewall, you must open the following ports: 3658 (peer-to- peer connection); 6000 (VOIP) if you haven't already done so.
4) Region Lock: We know that you are asking for this feature and we're assessing the potential limitations. Latency issues around the peer-to-peer technology and playing together between the territories may deteriorate the gameplay to a point where it could make the issues even more severe. This is something that we are fully investigating.
There is a title update in the works and I'll provide timing when it is confirmed. In the meantime, the issues above, along with a few other content issues will be addressed soon. Thanks again for everyone's patience.
