There haven't been many details about Farming Simulator 2017 I have been able to find on the internet.
I was fortunate enough to get a chance to talk to Martin from GIANTS at the Focus Interactive booth at E3. There was also a demo of the work in progress game that they showed off.
Some of the new features include:
New crops: sunflowers & soy
Customizable tractors: color, type, engine, optional parts
Equipment leasing
In-game radio with internet streaming
Driveable trains for transporting goods, with a mechanism to strap down cargo like logs
Console versions will have the ability to add mods
New missions for other farms (presumably doing field work since there weren't any current ones in the demo)
More lights on vehicles and the world
Female avatar option
New brands and equipment have been added
New map based on the pacific northwest
Small objects can be picked up by hand
This is not a complete list of what's going to be in the game. More will be announced later in the year.
VR is definitely not being worked on or likely to be. Also no info on multi-player updates.
