Presentation
Perfect transitions from anime to gameplay and a cinematic direction right out of Macross helps to create one of the PS2's most entertaining rides. 9.5
Graphics
An incredibly beautiful game that boasts plenty of unique designs, excellent use of color, and a plethora of particle effects. Hampered only by a spotty camera and occasionally disobedient framerates. 9.0
Sound
The original Japanese track wasn't included; but it was great to see that the American voice actors were extremely good. Sound effects and music are just as competent. 8.5
Gameplay
The new sub-weapons and super-tough bosses make a noticeable difference compared to the first game. Unfortunately, the beleaguered camera intelligence and schizophrenic controls have yet to be fixed. 7.5
Lasting Appeal
A two-player fighting game, extra Jehuty types, multiple difficulty settings, EX missions, and plenty of other replay features give plenty of incentive to play ZOE2 over and over again. Which we will. 8.5
OVERALL SCORE (not an average) 8.6
